The person behind AdaptiveChurch.com

Learning from the Center for Public Leadership at the John F. Kennedy School of Government (Harvard University), founder Amanda Olson, DMIN, MDIV applies adaptive leadership skills to ministry settings providing faithful guidance for challenging times.

With 11 years of leading a local congregation, Amanda completed her Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership in the Christian Tradition from Duke Divinity School. There, she was introduced to and discovered the symbiosis between adaptive leadership and leadership in the local congregation. A relationship she desired to share with other congregational leaders.

Adaptivechurch.com was born.

In addition to nurturing Adaptive Church, Amanda pastors Grace Covenant Church in Chicago. She has served the broader church as Moderator of the Annual Meeting, the Evangelical Covenant Church’s highest decision-making body. Before being Ordained to Word and Sacrament and called as a local pastor, Amanda taught at Covenant Bible College and was a television producer. Amanda loves the ancient scripture, the modern church, and post-modern ministry. She enjoys preaching, helping her congregation through challenging situations, and learning from other leaders.

She lives with her supportive husband, spunky son, and cute toy poodle in Chicago. When not working, she enjoys gardening, traveling, and sleeping.
